About us
Before founding G & D Lawyers in 2008, Graeme worked as Macquarie Legal Centre's principal for six years. Graeme's background in community law heavily influenced the way in which he operates his practice.
Whilst working at Macquarie Legal Centre, Graeme recognised the difficulty faced by those who were not eligible for Legal Aid or the services of a Community Legal Centre in relation to exercising their legal rights. They are expected to be able to afford the rates that private solicitors typically charge - with that amount usually exceeding $400 an hour.
He was frustrated by how frequently he had to turn away these clients because although they were on a low to average income, they were ineligible for its legal services. Graeme founded G & D Lawyers with the determination to provide a service which would fill this gap.
Graeme sat on the Criminal Law Committee of the NSW Law Society for a number of years and currently sits on the Family Law Committee of the NSW Law Society.
